Nagoya Grampus Football Club (abbreviated as "Nagoya Grampus", English name: Nagoya Grampus) was established in 1939 and is located in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
Inspired by the "Tiger Head Carp" (pronounced the same as "whale" in Japanese) of Nagoya Castle and the city's emblem "Maruhachi", this team won the Emperor's Cup under legendary coach Wenger in 1996 and finished as runners-up in the J.League. In 2010, under the management of Stojković, they won their first J1 League title, reaching the peak of the club's history.
In 2016, the team faced its first relegation in history, but returned to the top league in just one year. The matches between Nagoya Grampus and Kashima Antlers have been dramatic, with Nagoya setting an embarrassing record of 22 consecutive away losses, which was only broken in 2008. In 2022, they established a partnership with Serie A club AS Roma. This team, with its blend of traditional heritage and modern vision, remains an undeniable force in Japanese football.
