Team Introduction

Moreirense Football Club (abbreviated as "Moreirense", in English: Moreirense) was founded on November 1, 1938, and is a professional football club located in Moreira de Cónegos, Minho, Portugal.

In 1995, the team was promoted to the Spanish Honor League for the first time, but after five years of competition, they were relegated. The team then hired coach Manuel Machado, under whose leadership the team was promoted twice, returning to the top tier of Spanish football and consistently finishing in mid-table positions. In his final year as coach, the team's performance was ninth place.

After Machado left the team, they faced a Waterloo, suffering two consecutive relegations, and only returned to the second division in 2010. They spent two years there before returning to the top division, but were immediately relegated again. However, they won the second division championship in the 2013-14 season. In 2017, the team also won the League Cup, marking their first top national championship.

In the following years, the team went through multiple changes in head coaches and struggled to achieve good results. Finally, in the 2022-23 season, they ended a long rebuilding period. Under the leadership of new coach Paulo Alves, the team returned to the top division and won the Portuguese second division championship for that season, while also setting the highest win rate in the history of the league.
