BSC Young Boys (BSC Young Boys), founded on March 14, 1898, is a professional football club based in Bern, Switzerland.
The club won its first league title in 1903 and achieved a three-peat from 1909 to 1911, marking the beginning of a glorious history. The 1950s were the club's first golden era, and under the guidance of German coach Albert Sing, they not only achieved four consecutive league titles (1956-1960) but also reached the semi-finals of the European Cup in the 1958-59 season. After a period of decline in the 1960s and 70s, the club won the league title again after 26 years in the 1985-86 season, and in the 1986 Swiss Cup final, they defeated Servette 4-2 to win the championship.
After winning the league title five rounds ahead of schedule in the 2017-18 season, the team achieved a four-year league title streak from 2018 to 2021. In the 2022-23 season, the team won the league title for the 16th time and achieved the domestic double crown for the third time. In the 2023-24 season, they successfully defended their title with a 12-point advantage.
In European competitions, although the team finished bottom of their group in the 2024-25 Champions League season with eight losses, they achieved a surprising 2-1 victory over Manchester United in the 2021-22 Champions League group stage, creating a highlight moment for the club. As a traditional powerhouse in Swiss football, Young Boys of Bern remains one of the most competitive teams in the domestic league.
