Team Introduction

Paphos FC (short for "Paphos AEP", in English: Paphos AEP) was established in 2000 and is a professional football club located in Cyprus.

The club was formed by the merger of two teams from Paphos, APOP and Evagoras, carrying the local fans' expectations for a permanent team in the top league. It adopts a traditional blue and white color scheme, and the club badge incorporates elements from the two predecessor teams, particularly commemorating the national hero Evagoras Pallikarides who sacrificed for the independence of Cyprus.

Although starting as a team in the First Division, AEP Paphos has never been able to achieve long-term stability, constantly struggling with promotion and relegation. The 2005/06 season became the club's brightest moment, as they not only won the Second Division championship but also made a surprising run to the semifinals of the cup by eliminating strong teams. In 2014, they merged with AEK Kouklia to form the new team Paphos FC. Despite its short existence, AEP Paphos has left a unique football memory for this tourist city, and its rise and fall has become a microcosm of the development of football in Cyprus.
