Shimizu S-Pulse Football Club (abbreviated as "S-Pulse", in English: Shimizu S-Pulse) was established in 1991 and is located in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan.
The team name "S-Pulse" combines the initials of Soccer and Shizuoka with the letter "S" representing Spirit, and "Pulse" symbolizing heartbeat, reflecting the team's close connection with the local community. As one of the ten founding teams in the early days of professional football in Japan, Shimizu S-Pulse has always adhered to the mission of "sharing dreams, emotions, and glory" by connecting with the local people through football.
This community-supported team became a founding member of the J.League in 1993, won the League Cup for the first time in 1996, and achieved a double by winning both the Emperor's Cup and the Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 2001, becoming the pride of Shizuoka football. After experiencing the setback of relegation for the first time in the club's history in 2015, they made their way back to the top tier from J2 League twice in 2016 and 2024. Starting from community fundraising to operating as a publicly listed company, this orange army has always maintained a unique fan culture, continuing to write a football story of ups and downs in the football-loving land of Shizuoka, never giving up.
