Vitesse Football Club (abbreviated as "Vitesse" and in English: Vitesse) was founded in 1892 and is located in the eastern Dutch city of Arnhem. It is a professional football club in the Netherlands.
Although Vitesse has never won the Dutch top league championship, it has historically won the KNVB Cup four times, peaking in the 2010-2011 and 2016-2017 seasons. Additionally, the team performed excellently in the 1997-1998 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, successfully reaching the semifinals, which is the best performance in European competitions in the club's history.
At the end of the 2023-24 Eredivisie season, Vitesse was deducted 18 points by the Dutch Football Association due to ongoing financial issues related to the sale of the club, ultimately leading to their relegation.
