Team Introduction

Udinese Calcio, commonly referred to as "Udinese", was founded in 1911 and is located in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. It is a professional football club in Serie A. The club was originally established as a sports club on November 30, 1896, and officially became a football club on July 5, 1911.

In 1922, Udinese reached the final of the Coppa Italia, and in the 1949-50 season, they were promoted to Serie A for the first time. They finished as runners-up in Serie A in the 1954-55 season (the best in the club's history), but were relegated due to violations and quickly returned. The club faced a downturn in the 1960s and 1970s, lingering in Serie C for 15 years, but rebounded in the 1977-78 season, earning promotion to Serie B and winning several cup competitions.

In the 1980s, they won the Mitropa Cup, and with the addition of Zico, the team secured their sixth Serie A title. However, in 1986, they were relegated due to a match-fixing scandal. After 1995, they stabilized in Serie A, finishing third in the 1997-98 season and qualifying for the Champions League for the first time in the 2004-05 season. In the 2010-11 season, they achieved their highest points total in history, finishing fourth, and Di Natale became a legend by scoring over 20 goals in three consecutive Serie A seasons.

In recent years, they have consistently qualified for the Champions League, nurturing stars like Sánchez. They excel in player operations and youth training, maintaining a mid-table position in Serie A for a long time, representing resilience in Italian football.
