Seattle Sounders FC, abbreviated as "Seattle", was established in November 2007 and is a professional men's soccer club in the United States.
Founded in 2007 and joined MLS, the team was named through a fan network vote in 2008, continuing Seattle's professional soccer tradition since 1974. In their second year, 2009, they won the U.S. Open Cup, and then achieved a three-peat in the Open Cup in 2010 and 2011. They won the Supporters' Shield for the first time in 2014 and claimed the MLS Cup twice in 2016 and 2019.
In 2022, they made history by becoming the first American team to win the CONCACAF Champions League, thus earning a spot in the FIFA Club World Cup. The team's rivalry with the Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps, known as the "Cascadia Derby," is one of the most intense matchups in North American soccer.
