Al-Ettifaq Football Club, abbreviated as "Al-Ettifaq", was established in 1945 and is a professional football club based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. It is the first Saudi team to win an international championship.
In 1984, they won the Arab Club Champions Cup, and they are also the first team to win the Saudi Professional League title with an unbeaten record, as well as the first Saudi team to win the Gulf Cooperation Council Champions League.
Dammam Cooperation qualified for the 1989 AFC Champions League after winning the 1988 Gulf Club Champions Cup. In their first AFC Champions League journey, Dammam Cooperation reached the semifinals. In the match on October 13, 1988, Dammam Cooperation lost 1-2 to the champions, ultimately finishing in second place.
