Team Introduction

Djurgårdens IF Fotboll, commonly known as "Djurgården", was founded on March 12, 1891, and is a football club based in Stockholm, Sweden.

The club's nickname "Järnkaminerna" (The Iron Stoves) reflects its resilient team spirit. The club won the Swedish Cup four times between 1912 and 1920. The 1950s and 1960s marked a second golden era, with four league championships, including a notable achievement in 1959 when the football team and the ice hockey team both won championships in the same year. In the 21st century, Djurgården entered its third peak period, winning the league three times between 2002 and 2005 and achieving the double crown twice, and again topped the league in 2019.

The club has produced numerous Swedish internationals, including goalkeeper Isaksson and midfielder Kim Källström among other stars. As one of the three major clubs in Stockholm, Djurgården's local derby with AIK and Hammarby is always intense. Despite experiencing many ups and downs in terms of promotion and relegation throughout its history, this century-old club has maintained a strong competitive edge and continues to write glorious chapters in Swedish football.
