FC Midtjylland, abbreviated as "Midtjylland", was established in 1999 and is a professional football club located in Hjørring, Central Jutland, Denmark.
The club was formed by local businessmen through the merger of two historic clubs, Hjørring and Ikast. This team from Central Denmark was promoted to the top league the year after its establishment with a record number of points. The arrival of English businessman Matthew Benham in 2014 brought new opportunities to the club, and the following year they won the Danish Superliga title for the first time in history, followed by three more championships in 2018, 2020, and 2024, becoming a new force in Danish football.
In the 2020-21 season, they qualified for the UEFA Champions League group stage for the first time. After being taken over by Danish apparel giant HEARTLAND in 2023, they not only maintained their competitive level but also planned to establish a women's football team in 2024. Midtjylland is known for its modern management philosophy and youth training system. In the 2024 season, they drew 3-3 against Silkeborg in the final round of the championship playoff, edging out traditional powerhouse Brøndby by 1 point to claim the title, once again proving the strong competitiveness of this young club.
