Team Introduction

Hull City A.F.C. (commonly known as "Hull City") was founded on June 28, 1904, and is a professional football club based in Kingston upon Hull, East Yorkshire, England.

The team is nicknamed "The Tigers" due to their yellow and black striped jerseys. Although there was an intention to change the official name to "Hull City Tigers," it was ultimately retained due to lack of approval from the FA and support from fans.

Hull City was absent from the top tier for a long time during its 104 years since establishment, until it was promoted to the Premier League for the first time through the playoffs in the 2007-08 season, but was relegated two years later. In the 2012-13 season, the team returned to the Premier League as the Championship runner-up, not only successfully avoiding relegation but also making a historic run to the FA Cup final, where they finished as runners-up to Arsenal, thus earning qualification for the UEFA Europa League, becoming the last English team to qualify for European competition as FA Cup runners-up.

In the 2014-15 season, Hull City struggled in multiple competitions and ultimately was relegated back to the Championship. After that, the team's form fluctuated; although they were promoted back to the Premier League in the 2016-17 season, they were relegated again just a year later, being regarded as a "yo-yo club." In the 2019-20 season, the team finished at the bottom of the Championship and was relegated to League One, but the following year they quickly returned to the Championship as League One champions.
