Sheffield Wednesday Football Club (abbreviated as "Sheffield Wednesday", English name: Sheffield Wednesday F.C.) was founded on September 4, 1867, and is a professional football club located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.
Throughout its history, the team has long competed in various levels of English leagues. In the 2009/10 season, they were relegated to League One, but returned to the Championship two years later as runners-up. In the 2020/21 season, Sheffield Wednesday was deducted 6 points for financial violations and ultimately finished at the bottom of the Championship with only 41 points, being relegated back to League One. In the same season, another Sheffield team, Sheffield United, was also relegated from the Premier League, resulting in both teams from this football city facing relegation.
